This is the most efficient of all suppression systems and works in a combined way by cooling the heat source as well as starving the fire of the oxygen it needs if it is to continue burning.

CO2 systems are an ideal solution for local fire suppression incidents, but due to the smothering nature of the gas total flooding solutions need to be used with care and are unsuitable for normally occupied areas.
